COLLECTED INFORMATION
Upon inquiry into employment, MSA shall collect the following information from such prospective employees…
Prior work history including name, address and phone number of a contact person at each place of employment for the previous five years.
Three positive reference checks from individuals not related to the staff person. Previous employers may be included as a reference.
INQUIRY INTO CRIMINAL HISTORY
MSA shall obtain a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)/Juvenile Report Department of Criminal Justice Information Services for all prospective staff. In addition, MSA shall obtain a sex offender registry information check on all prospective staff.
Inquiry for Prospective Employees with Residence Outside of Massachusetts
For prospective employees with residency outside of Massachusetts, another state or international, MSA, where possible, will obtain a criminal and sex offender history from the relevant agency within the applicant’s residency.
Expiry of Inquiries
Provided there is no interruption of employment, the criminal inquiries shall be valid for a period of three years. After three years, MSA shall obtain a new criminal history. This policy does not apply to seasonal workers as there is a break in employment.
